Worth a try, even for people who are new to these kind of games. Getting it on a sale might be a good idea,it does have discounts quite often, but it's full price is also not really that big,so it's up to you. Overall, this roguelike RPG takes on a different approach to the genre, combining a fluid turn based combat with the classic dungeon-crawling we all got used to,but Crown Trick is quite nice,so a fan of these type of games will be surely pleased by it. You find and save some of the peeps I've mentioned, which unlock new passives, items or utility based stuff,so you will most likely have to grind a few runs in order to power up and get some new skills, but also blueprints which are really helpful later on,luckily the resources are pretty easy to get by simply just playing. The combat is pretty good and fluid because of all this, but it does get quite difficult as you keep killing bosses and advance. You drop a barrel filled with oil between some enemies, pop it open far away with a sniper when they get near it and then set it on fire with a different spell, meanwhile maybe a different trap around the fire also pops up and does even more damage than you'd assume in the beginning. Spells come from the familiars, beings you get from progressing and beating bosses, all of them having their own unique spells, which then leads to awesome combos. There are quite a lot of weapons and spells to get,all having different mechanics, passives and ways of using, you either poke with a fire spear from a few blocks away, try to snipe with an icey sniper even further away or just go all in their faces with two poisonous daggers,it's really up to you. If that sounds engaging,no worries, the item variation and spells are even better. ![]() The entire game works in turns, any action is basically one turn,so if you want to move, attack or set a spell, the entire map moves after your action,so even if the game is roguelike, strategies and planning are a huge factor that will determine if you will win a fight or maybe lose it from the very few early turns. ![]() But it's gonna take quite a while to get there. Now since it is a rogulike, gameplay is where the game actually hooks you on and makes you try yet one more run, hoping that your luck and skill with let you push more dungeons, advance even further, get some new loot and discover all the secrets that the devs left there for you. The story ain't bad either, there's some interesting parts and it develops slowly but steadily as you progress, the peeps you meet along the journey also make it much more interesting and engaging, but in general the Crown itself is the cherry on top in most cases. Quite a cute and pleasant art style as well,so that's a nice plus added to it.Īs sound goes,it's also pretty decent, quite a standard vibe, along some nice tunes here and there, but it's nothing spectacular, yet some of the enemies do have some funny sounds when hit, that is if you even stop long enough to realize them. Graphics are decent, nothing extremely jaw dropping or intense,it's quite a simple but colorful experience, tho while fighting and combining elements to create huge combos and damaging situations, you'll find some moments to be looking pretty nice, but all in all,it's decent, works on pretty much any PC's out there. ☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugsĬrown Trick is a pretty chill but interesting roguelike RPG set in a fantastical dream world, where the main character is tasked to fight her way out of the dungeons, stay alive, save some peeps and cute allies, all in a quite difficult turn-based styled gameplay. ☐ Only if u care about leaderboards/ranks So,general ratings first, followed by the review :
