Lairds applejack cocktails6/30/2023 I've made the Stone Fence, which was good if not earthshaking, the Philly Sling, which was novel, striking, and delicious, and the Philadelphia Scotchman, which was worth trying and enjoyable though it probably won't become a regular for me. Jason Wilson (Spirits Columnist for the Washington Post) wrote up a good Apple Brandy article for Tablematters a couple weeks ago here: 3/4oz Green Chartreuse or yellow Chartreuse.Honestly, it's been a while since I had this one, and I can't remember it that well, but I put it in my file of keepers at some point, so I must have liked it. This calls for Calvados, but Laird's Bonded would probably work well too. PDT, in Manhattan, by way of their recent cocktail book You probably don't have to like Fernet to find this palatable (though I do!) The small amount of Fernet in this cocktail isn't overwhelming, but adds a lot of character. Stir and strain into an ice filled double rocks glass.
